Award winning social enterprise, Printed By Us, has opened a retail shop in Sheffield’s Orchard Square selling T-shrts, hoodies, mugs and other printed products to raise funds for homeless people. Printed by us is a not for profit organisation and [part of the Archer Project which helps homeless people find new opportunities and better living conditions. A national programme to help people get fit and active following the lockdown has arrived in Sheffield. Beat the Street challenges people, schools, workplaces and community groups to see how far they can walk, run, scoot, wheel or cycle in return for points and prizes. It also aims to encourage people to explore their local community anew and discover routes and areas they may not know. The programme is free to take part and open to all ages. The licence to operate the new digital audio broadcasting (DAB) service for Sheffield and Rotherham has been awarded to a partnership of community media organisations. Shefcast Digital promises to bring more than 20 new radio services to the DAB platform. Its founding partners include Sheffield Live, Link FM and Redroad FM. RSPB Old Moor is working with Chol theatre and arts to bring to the stage memories and history of the Dearne Valley nature reserves. The RSPB are looking for people with an interest in local history and skills in interviewing and storytelling to volunteer as part of the Flock of Stories heritage project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Campaigners marked the 35th anniversary of the Battle of Orgreave with a rally on Orgreave Lane at the site of the former coking plant. Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign are continuing to seek a public enquiry into the events of June 1984 when miners were assaulted and arrested by police on charges that were later dropped as allegations emerged of fabricated evidence and police brutality.
