*Recent, independent Ofcom research (Local Media Attitudes and Use 2012) found that adult consumers of local media rate local radio as more important than paid for or free newspapers, browsing the internet, local magazines, and local news websites.

Source: Ofcom Local Media Attitudes and Use 2012.  2039 adults who consume media at least once per month were asked “Of all the sources you use, which one would you say is the most important to you personally? Local Radio was chosen in preference to paid for or free newspapers, browsing the internet, local magazines, and local news websites.” Only TV came higher than local radio; the cost per thousand of Local Radio is significantly lower than TV.
