Seven Sheffield campaigners have been awarded more than £3,000 each in damages by South Yorkshire Police after an independent watchdog ruled they were wrongfully arrested during a tree-felling protest. The Independent Office for Police Conduct found South Yorkshire Police had no grounds to make the arrest. The seven were arrested and charged between November 2016 and February 2017.
