Councillor Leigh Brammal, deputy leader of Sheffield City Council has resigned from his role with immediate affect and is to stand down as Labour councillor for Southey. Councillor Bramall, 42, has represented Southey ward since 2004 and was appointed deputy leader of the council in 2015. Bramall said the decision to leave was a wrench, but “it is the right decision for me and my family”. He is understood to be taking up a position with a communications company in Sheffield.
