Crime commissioner defends decision to seek resignation of South Yorkshire police chief

South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dr Alan Billings has defended his demand for the resignation of Chief Constable David Crompton. Crompton was originally suspended after an inquest jury concluded police conduct contributed to or caused the deaths of 96 football fans at Hillsborough in 1989. The former chief constable, in response, has said the PCC’s resignation call was “fundamentally wrong” and he would take legal action. Simon Thake reports for Sheffield Live!
