Just two weeks since the launch of Ofo bikes in Sheffield, the company says the cycle-sharing scheme is proving to be very popular across the city despite reports of some of the bikes being damaged and abandoned. Last week police in Sheffield said they will no longer collect the city’s new dockless hire cycles that have been dumped and vandalised. Manor and Arbourthorne Neighbourhood Police Team wrote on their Facebook page “Bike shepherding isn’t in our job description”. Adam Rose, operations manager for Ofo Sheffield, told Sheffield Live! it was an isolated incident and the company’s ground team are there to collect and repair any damaged bikes. Baillor Jalloh reports.
