£7m bail out is end game for Sheffield City Trust

Sheffield City Trust which runs some of the city’s biggest leisure and entertainment venues is to hand them back to Sheffield Council after receiving a £7 million bailout. Opposition leader Shaffaq Mohammed has called it an end game for the organisation with tax payers to be hit one more time to fill the budget gap. Azz Mohammed reports for Sheffield Live!

Tramlines call for new talent

Volunteers deliver aid to Polish border

Volunteers from aid charity Go Dharmic travelled to the Polish border crossing to deliver aid to those crossing over to safety from the war in Ukraine. Sheffield Mencap & Gateway is celebrating its 70th anniversary with the launch of a book of 70 stories of people with learning disabilities. The charity offers a range of support services to help people with earning disabilities to lead better lives. New stop smoking campaign launched

Sheffield Council have launched a new stop smoking campaign together with Smokefree Sheffield to show the impacts of cheap and illicit tobacco in the city as well as highlighting the importance of quitting. International Women’s Day celebrated in Sheffield and globally

The global day of celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women was marked in Sheffeld by events and activities including a drop-in organised by Together Women. International Women’s Day has been celebrated since 1975. Together Women is a local charity supporting women and girls.
