Sheffield’s Blowfish Theatre company will bring their latest production, Trump the Musical, to Theatre Deli in May, after touring in London, Birmingham and Manchester. The satirical show takes on US politics follows last year’s success with the company’s first production, Boris the Musicals. A new creative art and fundraising event Funk ‘n’ Doodle, hosted at The Albion pub on London Road, has raised over £7,000 for Mind, the mental health charity. The event, bringing people together to destress by doodling and dancing to a funky soundtrack of up and coming Sheffield DJ’s, is the debut promotion of Fellevents, a student-led arts collective. The student-run Inter Varsity Folk Dance Festival, which returns to Sheffield for the ninth time, was first launched in Leeds in 1951 and is the UK’s longest continually running folk festival. Followers of folk music and dance from across the country will get to enjoy the three day festival packed with workshops, performances, singarounds and dances. More than fifty people march through Sheffield city centre on Saturday in a bid to save Niche Nightclub on Walker Street whose licence is under review following a stabbing incident. The rally began peacefully outside the club and proceed to the Town Hall and then to Snig Hill police station. The club was issued with a 48-hour closure notice after five men were injured on 23 December, four of them with stab wounds. Sheffield Council will meet on Thursday to decide the faith of the club. An obstacle course fun run, featuring giant mazes, walls, gauntlets and slides, is set to come to the Rother Valley Country Park in September.
