Sheffield is set to receive over £400,000 to help tackle homelessness in the city. The government cash is aimed at bringing an end to people sleeping rough on the streets by the year 2027. 52 year old Nigel Jones, has been homeless for over two years. He spoke to Sheffield Live! on his hopes the cash will help him find accommodation. Baillor Jalloh reports.

Support Dogs Sheffield told Sheffield Live! they are stretched to the limit with a huge increase in demand for support dogs to assist a range of conditions. The charity, who provide a free of charge service, are dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions such as seizures and autism. Police are piloting a scheme to test the eyesight of all drivers stopped and which could be extended nationwide. Failure could lead to a driving licence being revoked. The scheme, being tested in Hampshire, Thames Valley and the West Midlands, follows calls for mandatory eye-testing of all drivers backed by the road safety charity Brake. Beneficiaries of organ donation are supporting a week long NHS-led campaign to promote voluntary registration as an organ donor in the event of death. Just over one in three adults are currently registered as organ donors with the government considering replacing current arrangements with an opt out system where people would be automatically included with the option to withdraw. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke to Sam Blackburn, a recipient who received a kidney donation in 2008.
