SynthFest returns to Sheffield

The UK’s premier synthesizer festival, SynthFest, has returned to Sheffield for its fourth year with over 1000 delegates attending exhibitions, workshops and performance at the Octagon Centre. Sheffield music video competition returns

Deadline approaches for entry to Sheffield’s Two Weeks To Make It music video competition organised by South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network. The competition pairs up musicians with filmmakers to help new talent get exposure. Each team is tasked with making a music video in just two weeks. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

Nether Edge Festival underway

The opening event for Nether Edge Festival 2018 was held at the Common Ground Community Centre with music, dance, face-painting, arts and crafts activities. Tramlines fringe set to rock the city

A packed music programme of fringe events is planned to run in parallel with this year’s Tramlines Festival at Hillsborough Park. A music stage on Devonshire Green will be among the highlights as bars and clubs across the city programme a weekend of live music. Sharrow Festival celebrates 21 years

Hundreds attended the Sharrow Festival at the weekend as festival goers celebrated its 21st anniversary. The community event features multiple stages for music and dance, crafts and campaign stalls, and activities including five-a-side football and a graffiti zone. Diversity festival celebrates Sheffield cultures

Young people from schools across Sheffield came together together at the weekend for the One Sheffield Many Cultures Festival at Barker’s Pool. Peace festival celebrates 15 years

Thousands enjoyed the sunshine at Sheffield’s fifteenth annual Peace in the Park Festival. The event, held in the Ponderosa Park in Netherthorpe, aims to bring people together to celebrate different cultures and to promote peace and harmony. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

 

Scramble for gold as Arctics release new album

Sheffield fans of the Arctic Monkeys queued from the early hours at a city centre pop-up store to get their hands on one of just 2044 exclusive gold vinyl pressings of the band’s sixth album to be released in Sheffield. The new album, titled Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino, is the first in six years from the Sheffield indie rock band after their 2013 album, AM, which sold around five million copies worldwide.
