On Saturday 6th July Sharrow Festival comes to Mount Pleasant Park in Sheffield for the 22nd year running and the organisers are pulling out all the stops. There will be three music stages, with our usual focus on local musicians including this year Unscene, Solar Love Society, Papa Soul, TYNI, Deadbeat UK, VSTRS, and Rogue Siesta on the Main Stage and Lewis Rushton, Fairy Cakes, Taff Trail Rambler and Liana Condor on the Community Stage!

We also have Sheffield’s premier paint jam, around eighty stalls, a host of free and cheap activities for young people and food from all over the globe to tempt the taste buds, including Samosa and Chaat, Burger Van, BBQ Piri Piri chicken, Bangladeshi snacks, baked potatoes, pizza and others still to confirm.

We are pleased to be developing a new partnership with JuJu Club, who will be bringing their global and dance orientated vibe to our new third stage/tent for the first time under the trees. They have a radio show on Sheffield Live; (See ‘The Green, Friendly and Different Show Tue 9-11 am on 93.2fm) and a fast growing monthly night In Hagglers Corner Bar (3rd Thursday of the month).

Once again this year we will be joined by FURD with their inflatable football pitch and we have a special edition of Sharrow Today newspaper from Sharrow Community Forum which will showcase our acts.

All in all, Sharrow Festival is a great meeting space where the many cultures who make up this distinctive neighbourhood can get together and let their hair down in a spirit of tolerance and mutual respect. To help with this we are creating a “faith field” this year to promote inter-faith conversations and provide a space for contemplation.
