Brown bin collection begins in Sheffield

Refuse collectors in Sheffield have started collecting the new brown recycling bins for glass, cans, tins and plastic bottles. The new brown bins will be collected once every four weeks. Existing blue bins will be used for paper and card. Sheffield Live! reporter Bailor Jalloh spoke to Sheffied City councillor Lewis Dagnall, cabinet member for environment and street scenes.

Sheffield set to get cash boost to tackle homelessness

Sheffield is set to receive over £400,000 to help tackle homelessness in the city. The government cash is aimed at bringing an end to people sleeping rough on the streets by the year 2027. 52 year old Nigel Jones, has been homeless for over two years. He spoke to Sheffield Live! on his hopes the cash will help him find accommodation. Baillor Jalloh reports.

Demand for support dogs on the rise

Support Dogs Sheffield told Sheffield Live! they are stretched to the limit with a huge increase in demand for support dogs to assist a range of conditions. The charity, who provide a free of charge service, are dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions such as seizures and autism. Lord Mayor facing fight challenge

The Lord Mayor of Sheffield has been challenged, during a Town Hall meeting, to go head to head in a boxing match with an Ecclesfield Parish councillor. David Ogle, an independent elected in 2017 to represent the High Green ward issued the challenge to gain support for a community gym in High Green. Azz Mohammed reports for Sheffield Live!
