Thursday is National Voters Registration Day

A scheme to encourage people with learning disabilities and autism to vote has been set up. Workshops and the first accessible registration forms have been produced to help people to register.  Thursday is national voter registration day and people will get support at the local Dimensions office on Meeting House Lane, Sheffield.

Sheffield gets a premier preview of Selma

Sheffield is one of only three Cities in the Country that have been chosen to show the Spike Lee film Selma before its Premier in London next week. Selma follows the story of what took place after Martin Luther King made his famous” I Have a Dream” Speech.

Chase away the winter blues

Local performers got together to put on a Happy January event.  The Old Woolies on the Moor is being transformed in to a space where artists create and perform while people have their coffee. Comedians, singers and dancers got together to cheer people up and to support the new venue.

New Sheffield hub for bike library

Recycle Bikes is a not for profit, one stop shop for people who are interested in bikes, they recycle old ones, loan bikes out and also donate bikes to projects across Africa. You can  learn basic road and maintenance skills and get spare parts for your vintage bike.
