A packed music programme of fringe events is planned to run in parallel with this year’s Tramlines Festival at Hillsborough Park. A music stage on Devonshire Green will be among the highlights as bars and clubs across the city programme a weekend of live music. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke to Sheffield-based singer songwriter Caroline Francess.

Tap the + button in the top right like you normally would to add a podcast. Then tap “Add URL” in the top right, paste the feed URL and hit done!
Tap the + sign in the top right. Then choose”Add RSS Feed” and paste in the URL of the RSS feed. Tap “Add.”
Tap “Add” on the bottom bar, press “Add Podcast Manually” and in the “Feed” field paste the URL of the RSS feed. Then hit “Subscribe” in the top right.
Your podcasts should now be kept up to date and every show until you unsubscribe will be kept on your media player. Bear in mind our shows are usually 1 or 2 hours, so each show will use up 55mb to 110mb of your hard drive storage respectively.

Thousand of people flocked to Norfolk Heritage Park for the 16th annual Sheffield Fayre. The bank holiday crowds were not disappointed as the sun came out for the free event with attractions ranging from fairground rides and food to a blooming horticultural show, crafts, games and market stalls. Sheffield Carnival has returned with a colourful bank holiday parade after a break of more than 20 years. The carnival took place alongside Sheffield Fayre at the Norfolk Heritage Park. Azz Mohammed reports for Sheffield Live!
It’s rare that you can leave a gig feeling that you have, in a strange way, made friends with the band after they’ve left the stage, despite not having a conversation with them. The four piece is made up of (in alphabetical order!) Becky Blomfield, Billy Hutton, Chris Webb and Oli Holbrook and each soul on stage emanated this wonderful feeling of positivity, and through their themes of Being Nice and Owning Your Okayness, it’s almost as if you are getting a lyrically hug from the band and feel that you are in an environment where you can let your guard down and just be yourself.
Despite some technical difficulties, Milk Teeth held the crowd by being completely endearing and radiating positive energy in the light of something that could have caused other bands to “get the face on”. A few jokes from the drummer Oli Holbrook sent ripples of chortles and I think perhaps some non-malicious eye rolling through the crowd.
The show was just brilliant and it left us at The Plug dying for more, I think it’s fair to say that we were surprised when the band left the stage and the lights came on! More Milk Teeth would have been the only thing that would have improved a practically perfect performance.
The group absolutely ooze the potential to be something massive and I have the utmost confidence that they will be.
Becky Blomfield is absolute power house, and a great role model for both men and women. Her incredibly interesting article Interesting article HERE from back in 2016 just shows that there is still a lot of work to do in the music industry.

Fine weather brought huge crowds to the annual Stannington Carnival, a community-led celebration which has been a summer fixture for over 20 years. With music including Stannington Mixed Choir, Stannington Brass Band and the Old Friends Folk Bank, the traditional village carnival provided a diversity of family entertainment from the Scrufts Fun Dog Show to street dance performance, archery and face painting. The Peace in the Park festival returned to Sheffield for 2017 with the message of reclaiming peace in the world and the power of community action. The Broomhall Together day for local residents included activities, advice and dialogue with police, emergency services, Sheffield Council and community groups. The event brought together residents and public agencies to talk about issues and problems in the community, services available and how to tackle crime and improve safety in the neighbourhood.
