The Children’s Book Awards took place at the Crucible, the only national book award where the winning titles are voted on by children. The event, into its 29th year, was attended by authors, children, parents, teachers and librarians. The week long Nether Edge Festival has launched with an official opening and carnival at St Peter’s Hall Common Ground on Machon Bank Road. Sheffield’s annual Children’s Book Awards were announced today, with the overall winner, Michael Rosen, and other authors present at The Crucible for the ceremony and signings.
