Three males are in police custody following a car crash on Friday night which left four people dead including two men, a woman and a one-year-old baby. The crash happened at around 8.50pm, when a VW Golf which had been tailed by police hit a people carrier preparing to turn right onto Bannham Road. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!
Sheffield’s long awaited tram train finally began running only to be derailed on its first day of service after a crash with a lorry on Staniforth Road. The service was due to launch two years ago but has faced delays and cost overruns from an initial estimate of £15 million to a final bill of £75 million. Services were suspended after the incident. Fir Vale School in Page Hall has re-opened on Wednesday after an incident on Tuesday morning when a black BMW was driven at speed into the school grounds before it ploughed into the front doors of the school. Two men were arrested in what South Yorkshire Police describe as “an isolated incident”. No staff or students were reported to have been injured but the school was evacuated.
