Community Reporters
Interested in broadcast and online news reporting?
We are building a team of community reporters to seek out and produce local news items for radio, TV, web and mobile. Community reporters are volunteers who contribute to our news workflow on a regular or occasional basis. We are offering opportunities to join our news room team at our broadcast centre or to act as a ‘neighbourhood stringer’, seeking out hyperlocal stories and sending them through. You may have experience in news blogging or student journalism, or just want to get involved in making news on Sheffield Live. We will be offering training in reporting, editing, production and presentation, together with access to our studio facilities and news gathering kits. We are also looking for volunteers in the short term to assist with reporting (interviewing, camerawork, sound, editing) from Sheffield’s summer festivals including Sheffield Food Festival, Peace in the Park, Orgreave anniversary and other events.

I am interested in becoming part of your team, on a voluntary basis.
I run a music website, This is Ark, in which we try and cover as much live music, not only in Sheffield but surrounding areas, Leeds, Manchester, Doncaster, etc. We also do reviews, previews, in fact anything music.
I would love to have an opportunity to have a go at interviewing, people associated within the music industry. I do have a little experience in this, but would like to extend this. I do not have any journalism qualifications, but I am more than willing to give it a go.
I am witty, easy going, flexible, and free. wwww.thisisark.co.uk
