Xmas celebration Victorian style

Sheffield Industrial Museum held its 22nd annual Victorian Xmas market at Kelham Island. The Town Crier, Morris Men and a Punch and Judy show entertained those attending,  alongside characters from the Victorian era who, added to the atmosphere.

College construction begins

Sheffield City College have started work on a new Technical, Engineering and Design Centre on their Olive Grove site.  The project which is called TED is aiming to make Sheffield the place to come to if you want to study any of the three disciplines.

Beating the winter blues

A day full of fun activities including Graffiti Art, Zumba and Tia Chi  was held in Lowedges, to combat  isolation and to bring different sections of the community together at a time when the nights are drawing in and the cold weather can make it more difficult to get out.

Hantu and Aalfy are two local social organisations that have given unemployed people in the City the chance to learn how to use a laser cutter to make a product and then try to test its viability by selling it in a pop up shop in The Winter Gardens.

Man with pram a Sheffield Star

John Burkhill has had thousands of people signing a petition to get him a  star on the Walk of Fame outside Sheffield Town Hall.  The man with a pram met Jennifer Dunstan, who started the campaign, for the first time when they were both interviewed by Sheffield Live!  The 38 degrees petition is now heading towards seven thousand signatures.
