Kell Brook fight could be last in Sheffield

Former IBF welterweight title holder, Kell Brook, is to take on Australian Michael Zerafa at the Sheffield Arena in what Brook says could be his last fight in the city. The 32 year old Sheffield boxer, once ranked as the worlds best active welterweight, is looking to return to elite competition and will be seeking a quick win. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohamed spoke to Brook’s visiting opponent, Michael Zerafa, as he prepared for the Saturday bout.

Sheffield bids farewell to boxing legend

Hundreds attended the funeral of boxing legend Brendan Ingle at Sheffield Cathedral. Ingle Brendan died in May, aged 77 at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, from a brain hemorrhage. The Irish born former boxer trained four world champions from his Wincobank gym, including Johnny Nelson, Naseem Hamed, Junior Witter and Kell Brook. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

Boxing fans predict Mayweather v McGregor fight

In one of the most highly anticipated boxing matches of the year Floyd Mayweather and Conor Mcgregor will be stepping into the ring in the early hours of Sunday morning. Mayweather, 40, came out of retirement for the multi-million dollar fight and is one of the best boxers of his generation. Sheffield boxer, Loua Nassa, wins first title

Twenty-one year old Sheffield boxer Loua Nassa beat Sergey Tasimov of Estona to win the International Challenge belt at Pond’s Forge. Nassa now has nine wins on his record and is unbeaten in the bantomweight division. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke to Loua Nassa and his coach Dennis Hobson.

Kell Brook set to defend welterweight title

Kell Brook is set to defend his IBF Welterweight world title against undefeated American boxer Errol Spence, with the fight set to take place in Sheffield at Bramall Lane on 27 May. Brook’s last fight was against middleweight Gennady Golovkin where he lost in the fifth round after moving up two divisions. Spence turned professional after losing in the quarter finals in the London Olympics 2012. Azz Mohammed reports for Sheffield Live!
