Yorkshire Ambulance Service have launched a ‘save a life app’ for mobile phone which shows where the nearest external defibrillator can be found from over a thousand external across the country. The app also offers guidance on how to respond in the event of someone suffering a cardiac arrest. NHS workers went on Strike for four hours for better pay conditions. Picket lines were held at the Hallamshire , Jessops Wing and Northern and General Hospitals.
For the first time ever in their history, midwives went out on strike. The nationwide action included nurses, ambulance crews, paramedics and hospital porters all walking out for better pay. The workers have been offered a 1% consolidated pay rise.
