Women athletes taking part in the Outdoor City Weekender gathered today at Sheffield’s iconic women of steel sculpture to pay tribute to the women who worked in Sheffield’s steelworkers during the two world wars. Jos Luhukay’s first match in charge of the Owls ended on a positive start with a goalless draw at Bramall Lane on Friday night. A youth football club in Burngreave has been granted funding to help tackle extremism and keep young people away from crime and anti-social behaviour. The Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire has awarded £4,500 to Aden Steelers Football Club from his Community Grants Scheme. 5 Star Wrestling and FreeSports TV channel have announced a broadcast deal that will see the return of weekly free-to-view live wrestling on TV including from Sheffield’s Fly DSA Arena. The deal was announced at the Arena which will also host one of the first events in the series on 15 February.
