Lord Winston opens Legacy Park college

Professor Lord Robert Winston opened the UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park college at an official ceremony to launch the new facility for 14-19 year old students. The £10 million college on the former Don Valley site will specialise in computing, health sciences and sport science and is fitted with state of the art equipment. British international students compete in COBIS Games

Hundreds of British international students have been competing in Sheffield this weekend as part of the Council of British International Students (COBIS) Games. The COBIS Games bring together british students studying at international schools across the globe for a weekend of sporting competition including swimming at Ponds Forge and athletics at the Woodbourne Road athletics stadium. College campaign promotes voter registration

The Sheffield College are encouraging students and young people to register to vote in the General Election ahead of the deadline on Monday 22 May. The College have loaned a portable voting booth from Sheffield Council to raise student awareness of elections and voter registration. It is touring college campuses before the voting registration deadline following a launch at the Olive Grove campus off East Bank Road. Second phase of Sheffield run routes open to the public

Sheffield Council have signposted seven new locations for running in the city’s parks and green spaces as part of the second phase of their Run Routes initiative. IT experts warn on cyber attack risks

IT specialists are advising homes and businesses to review their cyber security following the malware attack that hit the NHS and other organisations at the weekend. The cyber attack, known as ransomware, left users locked out of their computers and requested a ransom payment to unlock encrypted data. Hidden Wounds charity album released

Award-winning Sheffield songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy and singer Joanne Heseldon Edwards released the album in support of the Help for Heroes charity. Wrestling stars coach young basketballers

Youngsters at a basketball event to promote the forthcoming Special Olympics were joined by WWE stars Charlotte Flair and tag team duo American Alpha. With less than 100 days before the Special Olympics comes to Sheffield, the wrestling stars turned their hand to basketball for a special event at the All Saints Sports Centre before their headline bought at the Sheffield Arena.
