Sheffield Live! gets in amongst the public this week in a special outside broadcast from the Winter Garden.
The station’s flagship programme, ‘Communities Live!’ will hit the airwaves every weekday between 12 and 1pm from an open-air studio in the Winter Garden, to support Sheffield Live’s Spring Fundraising appeal.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see Sheffield’s newest radio station in action, as volunteers from the local community put their radio training into practice, in full view of the public. It is also an opportunity to find out more about Sheffield Live! and how you can get involved.
Look out for interviews with local councilors, movers and shakers from Sheffield’s community and voluntary sector, snooker celebrities and performances from local musicians.
Monday’s programme featured Sangita Basudev – Chief Executive of Sheffield Live! 93.2FM, Lee Adams – Deputy Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, Cllr Sylvia Dunkley – Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Streetscene and Sheffield’s premier Latin American band, ‘Son Para Todos’
Tuesday’s programme will feature Cllr Bob McCann – Cabinet Member for housing and sustainable, safer communities, Colin Humphries – World Snooker Referee, a performance from local band ‘Pink Sharabang’, Kate Hewitt – Head of Programming at The Harley Hotel and Dan Clayton, front man of up and coming band ‘The Yell’
Coming up in the rest of the week are Cllr Shaffaq Mohammed – Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Local Environment, Noel Sharkey – Professor of Robotics at the University of Sheffield and presenter of Sheffield Live’s ‘Sound of Science’ and Cllr Sylvia Anginotti – Cabinet Member for Employment and Enterprise.
