Freedom Riders continue the fight

The Freedom Riders are fighting for the return of free travel for pensioners.  Two of the protesters were arrested earlier on this year and were due in court today.  The protest turned in to a celebration as it was announced last week that charges were being dropped.

Santas chase the Pud

Santas were running around the heart of the City to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.  The idea of the fun run is to catch the Christmas pudding, who is given a slight head start, and raise funds for the Foundation.

Xmas celebration Victorian style

Sheffield Industrial Museum held its 22nd annual Victorian Xmas market at Kelham Island. The Town Crier, Morris Men and a Punch and Judy show entertained those attending,  alongside characters from the Victorian era who, added to the atmosphere.

College construction begins

Sheffield City College have started work on a new Technical, Engineering and Design Centre on their Olive Grove site.  The project which is called TED is aiming to make Sheffield the place to come to if you want to study any of the three disciplines.
