Homelessness charity Roundabout held their second annual Quizmas pub quiz fundraiser with the event hosted by Pulp drummer Nick Banks. Money raised is to go into services for homeless young people in Sheffield. Nick Coleman reports for Sheffield Live!
Treetop House run by The Sick Children’s Trust have launched the Big Chocolate Tea annual fundraiser to support families of sick children. The fundraising picnic invites people to get together over a cuppa and cake and to contribute £30 to support a family for one night in ‘Home from Home’ accommodation while their child undergoes treatment at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Pianist Bill Skipworth performed a fundraising concert at Sheffield Cathedral to raise money for the Sheffield branch of the Royal Society for the Blind. The performance was particularly poignant as Bill himself has suffered significant sight loss in the last six months. Despite the challenges he was keen to go ahead with the event to raise money for a cause close to his heart. Sheffield Live! reporter Simon Thake spoke to Bill at the rehearsals.
