The week-long British Figure Skating Championship 2017 is being held at Ice Sheffield and will see top performers compete for UK titles and to stake their claim for a place at the Winter Olympics 2018 in PyeongChang. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke to technical controller Ann Findley.
Olympic figure skaters and former British national champions Nick Buckland and Penny Coomes made a successful comeback performance at Ice Sheffield. The professional skating pair were last in competition together at the World Championships in March 2016. Shortly after Coomes shattered her right knee cap in training and the injury has required intensive surgery and rehabilitation. Buckland and Coomes spoke to Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed at the English Institute for Sport.
Sheffield Steelers clinched a dramatic win in overtime against Cardiff Devils in the Elite League Ice Hockey play-off final. The Steelers won 6-5 in double overtime to deny the Devils a grand slam. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke to Steelers head coach Paul Thompson at Ice Sheffield.

The Sheffield Steelers are back on their home ice. The Steelers had to start off their season at ICE Sheffield because the ice at the Motorpoint Arena had melted due to a leak. Today was the first day the team have been able to train at their home venue. Sheffield Live! was there to see them and spoke to team owner Tony Smith.
