Ice Skate-a-thon to raise money for Children in Need

For Children in Need, Meadowhall hosted a Skate A Thon to raise money for the charity. SLTV first hit your screens on 23 September 2015 so we celebrated with a special edition of Talking Sheffield hosted by Simon Thake in front of a live audience. The guests were Steve Buckley, Chair of SLTV, Sara Hill from Opus Magazine and Lia Nici from Estuary TV.

IMAN FM One Year Anniversary

IMAN FM has celebrated one year of its existence this October. The community radio which is based in Attercliffe, broadcast into many different languages including English, Urdu, Punjabi and Bangali. I spoke to Hafiz Anwar Zahidy, to find out more about the radio station since it started in 2014.

Meadowhall celebrates 25th Anniversary

Meadowhall is 25 years today since it was first opened to the public. Over the weekend  the centre will be celebrating its 25 years of existence and to celebrate the quarter of a centenary occasion the centre is hosting a weekend of birthday celebrations. Sheffield Live spoke to Darren Pearce who is the centre director of Meadowhall about the various events during the weekend and what it means to the community.

Blind Veterans UK 100 Anniversary

The Blind Veterans UK charity are celebrating their one hundredth anniversary with a photography exhibition that’s touring the UK. The exhibition was created to showcase the talents of some of the veterans the charity supports. The veterans could enter work from five different categories. Pieces by the winners and runners are part of the display, which begun here in Sheffield. Kathryn Smiles went along to the exhibition whilst it was at the Winter Gardens to find out more.
