Nether Edge and Sharrow councillor, Jim Steinke, has urged residents in the area to remain calm after a man was shot in Wostenholm Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning. A 30 year old man has been discharged from hospital after suffering minor gunshot wounds following what police described as a “targeted incident”. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!
Additional police officers have been deployed in Burngreave following a shooting incident in which a man was wounded. The altercation between rival gangs, thought by police to be individuals of Kurdish and Somalian origin, took place just two days after a 17 year old was stabbed in the same area. The British Universities & Colleges Sport Nationals (BUCS) brought over 6000 student athletes to Sheffield for three action-packed days at venues across the city. Now in its fifth year, the BUCS Nationals 2017 include indoor athletics, badminton, swimming, karate, fencing, shooting, judo, trampolining and climbing.
