Sheffield Wednesday: Owls boss under pressure

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has said he’s not afraid of being sacked despite recent losses. The Owls boss is under pressure after loosing against city rivals Sheffield United at Hillsborough followed by a 0-1 defeat against Birmingham city on Tuesday night. Wednesday are currently fourteenth in the Championship and face another difficult task at the weekend against regional rivals Leeds United.

Six face criminal charges over Hillsborough disaster

Former Chief Superintendent of South Yorkshire Police, David Duckenfield, officer in charge on the day of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, faces 95 charges of manslaughter. Five other senior figures are to be prosecuted over the 96 deaths and the alleged police cover-up that followed. No manslaughter case is to brought regarding the 96th victim, Tony Bland, as he died four years later after his life support was switched off. Azz Mohammed reports for Sheffield Live!

Carvalhal refuses questions over contract

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal threatened to walkout of a press conference after facing contract related questions. The tense meeting with the press came after a comment the Owls boss made on Alan Biggs’ Talking Sheffield show on Sheffield Live! this week. Carvalhal seemed to suggest that his contract was up at the end of this season wheres he had previously intimated he had a further two years left to run. Simon Thake reports for Sheffield Live!

Sheffield Wednesday: Pudil welcomes increased expectations from Owls fans

Sheffield Wednesday’s Czech international Daniel Pudil has said that the Owls will be looking to continue their recent good form as they take on QPR at Hillsborough. Pudil was the Owl’s midweek goalscorer as they came from behind to share the points with Cardiff. Defender Pudil said he understands the increased expectation from Wednesday fans after their recent wins and success of last season.
