Sheffield council have sent letters to fourteen people, including Nether Edge and Sharrow councillor Alison Teal, threatening a further injunction to prevent tree felling protests. The campaigners have been asked to give a written undertaking not to engage in tree protests in order to avoid the Council taking legal action. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

Sheffield Council is to receive government funding to help new refugees find work and to integrate into the local community. The Old Moor wetlands nature reserve in Dearne Valley has reported a record breeding season for one of Britain’s rarest and most elusive breeding birds, the bittern, with three active nests and eleven chicks recorded. The RSPB reserve has been developed as a wetlands habitat over the last fifteen years in a location that was once a post-mining wasteland. Bitterns first nested at the reserve in 2010. School students joined a demonstration in Firth Park to highlight the dangers of air pollution following a report that puts Sheffield among cities that exceed the legal limits. The World Health Organisation has identified 30 areas in the UK where fine-particle air pollution is in excess of ten micrograms per cubic metre.
