The ROKiT World Seniors Snooker competition is set to come to Sheffield for the first time with snooker legends Stephen Hendry, Jimmy White and Joe Johnson among 20 players from 16 countries competing for the trophy. Aussie snooker star Neil Robertson was edged out of the World Championship in a closely fought battle with Marco Fu. Sheffield’s annual Children’s Book Awards were announced today, with the overall winner, Michael Rosen, and other authors present at The Crucible for the ceremony and signings. The Sheffield Children’s Book Awards bring together schools across Sheffield to enable children to vote on their favourite books. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke to Claire South, senior library officer at Sheffield City Council.
