Sheffield boy completes second marathon challenge

A nine-year-old boy from Sheffield who has cerebral palsy and autism has raised over £137,000 for charity by walking two marathons. Tobias Weller, known as Captain Tobias, was cheered by hundreds of fans including Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill as he used a walker to cover the 52 miles on the street of Abbey Lane. The money will be shared between Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the Paces special school where he attends. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

Refugee charity moves to phone and online support

Abseiling challenge raised thousands for charity

The annual abseiling challenge down the sheer face of Hallam University’s Owen Building has raised more than £6000 for the British Red Cross. Charity appeal to find stolen van

Sheffield’s RSPCA are appealing for help to locate a van used by the charity after it was reported stolen last weekend. According to the charity the van was stolen overnight between 10pm on Friday 12 July and Saturday 13th. The van has RSPCA stickers all over it, as well as a large image of a cat on one side and a dog on the other. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

Karate youngster hits crowdfunding target

Eleven-year-old Asher Walton-Mitchell raised over £1,250 in a karate challenge to enable a wheelchair bound neighbour to get a lift installed in his home. Karate enthusiast Asher launched a successful sponsorship appeal to perform 50 katas in an hour to raise funds to support his friend Phil, who has a severe form of multiple sclerosis.
