Highly rated loop artist, Samantics, is playing the most northly gig he has played this year at the Cross Scythes, Derbyshire Lane, Sheffield on the 15th of next month.

Samantics is the stage name of Exeter based Samuel Walker, a young musician who has turned his experience of depression into infectious and irresistible tunes that have seen him ironically compared to hip hop superstar Eminem. Also known for his spoken word sets, Samantics blends poetry into his songs and says that his musical career literally saved his life – click this link to be taken to an article in The Guardian about his experience and music.

With the use of a host of loop pedals and his signature Ukulele, Samantics has blown away crowds at Glastonbury and a host of other festivals this year, as well as being spotted by BBC’s Up and Coming Stage.

He is known for his full-force sets that get people singing, dancing and thinking about the difficulties people face in the daily lives when living with poor mental health.

Samantics is about to go on tour with the incredibly popular female duo, Sound of the Sirens, but his Sheffield gig is part of his first major UK tour.

He will be supported by Tich Vango and Jamie Burley from Chesterfield based folk/punk band The Silk Road when they play an acoustic set.

Also on the bill is young aspiring 14-year-old Clowne based singer-songwriter, Joel Fox, who will be debuting his own songs for the first time as part of a professional gig.

Doors open at 7.30 with tickets available on-line from ticketsource, with higher admission prices on the door.
