40 Years of Hallmark of Harmony

Hallmark of Harmony, demonstrably one of the very best international level barbershop choruses in the UK, is based here in South Yorkshire. This year it is celebrating its 40th anniversary, the culmination of which is an extravagant celebration of a cappella singing at Sheffield’s Octagon Centre on Saturday, 3rd November.

The concert will include some stellar guests from the world of Barbershop, including one of the best quartets in the World, Instant Classic, who were International Champions in 2015 when Hallmark of Harmony themselves were performing on the same international stage. Instant Classic are flying over from the USA specially for this event. Additionally, a ladies chorus, who have been acclaimed for several years as the best in Europe, the White Rosettes, led by Sally McLean. It will also include songs commissioned and arranged especially for all these guests to sing together with Hallmark of Harmony.

In their forty years, Hallmark of Harmony have won the Gold medal and become the UK champion chorus no less than seven times. Whilst standards have continued to improve year on year, Hallmark has not finished outside the top three choruses in the past six years. I hope you will be able to catch this show at the Octagon Centre on 3rd November, because I feel very sure you won’t be disappointed.
