Children’s Book Awards give young readers a say

The Children’s Book Awards took place at the Crucible, the only national book award where the winning titles are voted on by children. The event, into its 29th year, was attended by authors, children, parents, teachers and librarians. Nether Edge Festival kicks off with carnival

The week long Nether Edge Festival has launched with an official opening and carnival at St Peter’s Hall Common Ground on Machon Bank Road. The family friendly event features music, concerts, art, literature and sports activities and culminates with the Party in the Park on 24 September. Baillor Jalloh reports for Sheffield Live!

Sheffield celebrates 28th Children’s Book Awards

Sheffield’s annual Children’s Book Awards were announced today, with the overall winner, Michael Rosen, and other authors present at The Crucible for the ceremony and signings. The Sheffield Children’s Book Awards bring together schools across Sheffield to enable children to vote on their favourite books.
