Yorkshire Roses prepare for inaugural quidditch tournament

The Quidditch Premier League (QPL) will be holding its championship final at Craven Park Stadium in Hull, on Saturday 26 August, in the climax of the QPL inaugural season. Many Sheffield players will be taking part representing the Yorkshire Roses, one of eight teams participating. Quidditch started as a fictional game from the Harry Potter books but has become a genuine sport in its own right, including broomsticks, but without the flying and other magical elements. Blades clinch League One title

Sheffield United have been crowned League One champions after Bolton fell out of the running with a loss at Oldham. Six years since the Blades last tasted success and following a series of below par performances and managerial changes, former Blades player Chris Wilder has changed the team philosophy and clinched the title with his first year in charge. The team are mow set to return next season to competition in the Championship. Simon Thake reports for Sheffield Live!

Sheffield United on the way up

Sheffield United are to return to the Championship after a six year absence following their 1-2 away victory at Northampton Town. The Blades needed a win to secure automatic promotion. Marc Richards put Northampton ahead, but Leon Clarke and John Fleck both scored to secure a win for the visitors. Thousands of fans at Bramall Lane watched the game live on big screens set up on the pitch. Azz Mohammed reports for Sheffield Live!

Figure skating championships return to Sheffield

Britains brightest ice skating talents have returned to iceSheffield for the week long British Figure Skating Championships 2016. Starting with novice skaters and moving on to older professionals towards the end of the week, the event runs until 4th December. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed spoke with Alistair Wilson, technical director at the National Ice Skating Association of Great Britain, and novice skater Ava Mclean, competing at the event for the first time.

Sheffield Wednesday: Tough game expected in Cardiff

The Owls face another difficult away game as they travel to Cardiff City for their Wednesday night fixture. The team go in to the match on the back of a 1-0 win against Huddersfield Town last week. Cardiff will be playing their second match at home under newly appointed manager, Neil Warnock. Sheffield Live! reporter Azz Mohammed was at the press conference with manager Carlos Carvalhal.
