The Sheffield Sharks have announced they will extend captain Mike Tuck’s contract for the 2017/18 season but with an extra twist. The 6’7″ power forward has held the role of captain for the last five years and has recently been given a marketing role with the Sharks alongside his playing career. Youngsters at a basketball event to promote the forthcoming Special Olympics were joined by WWE stars Charlotte Flair and tag team duo American Alpha. With less than 100 days before the Special Olympics comes to Sheffield, the wrestling stars turned their hand to basketball for a special event at the All Saints Sports Centre before their headline bought at the Sheffield Arena. The Olympic Legacy Park which is being built on the old Don Valley Stadium site will be up and running in 18 months time says Richard Caborn former Minister of Sport and MP for Sheffield Central.
The Public were invited to an unveiling of the Olympic Legacy Park development plans. The park is to due to be built on the site of The Don Valley Stadium and will become the new home to Sheffield Eagles and The Sheffield Sharks.
